Corporate Event Photography

Being a professional event photographer isn't all gigs and theatre performances; a great deal of my work takes me to business events such as award ceremonies, conferences, lunches, dinners and balls. Luckily for me however, attending a business lunch or a team building weekend is just as enjoyable as a a day at a music festival. While this can sound surprising to a lot of people, the fun in my work rests upon a passion for finding and documenting the mood of an event and it's attendees - regardless of the setting or theme. While a trade show might not hold the same excitement as a rock concert or club night, it will carry an energy of it's own; and it is an event photographers job to discover and document this in a quality and professional manner.

Businesses may require an onsite event photographer for many reasons - be it for a website gallery, annual report, or future marketing, press and PR work. Whatever the reasons, I work closely with my clients to ensure they are provided with quality images from their events. The best event photographers don't just know how to take professional quality images, they provide images that capture the feel of an occasion and show it in it's best possible light - this is what I do.

Here's a wee selection of shots from previous jobs.

Music Photography

There is something special about seeing and listening to live music that I will always love; and so naturally I'm in my element when I can take photos at a concert. Providing photography for bands and artists has always been one of my favourite kinds of jobs, as trying to capture natural expressions and emotions is what I love the most about being a documentary event photographer - and where better to see real emotions than in the faces and movements seen at live performance. Previously I have had the pleasure of working at a number of gigs and shows, taking photos of awesome bands, including, The View, Prides, Fatherson, The OK Socal Club and Bwani Junction - I can't wait to see what music photography jobs come along in 2014.

And now some photos.. being an accordion player I have a bit of a special love for traditional music, and so here are a few photos of the awesome Skerryvore that I took at the National Museum of Scotland during a performance at last year's Edinburgh Fringe. I recently saw them play again with a number of other Scottish bands at a Celtic Connections night this week - and recommend you do the same should you get the chance!

New Year, New Website!

Happy new year everyone. 2013 was a great year for me with some amazing events around Edinburgh and Glasgow, as well a number of weddings (my own included!). As such, looking back at all my photos, it seemed like my website was looking a little dated – so voila my new galleries and blog. From here on forward I'll be posting photos from all my shoots as they happen throughout the year - as well as anything photo related that I might feel the urge to have a blether about. So, if you're partial to some lovely photos then pop back again. To kick off, here's wee selection of some of my favourite shots from 2013. Enjoy!
